Duluth Trip: Glensheen Mansion and Local Brew Tours!
Saturday May 7th from 7:45 am (leave Frederic)-6pm (arrive Frederic)

Cost: $60 per person* includes transportation, Mansion Tour and 2 brewery tours with samples

We will start our day in Duluth touring the historic Glensheen Mansion. Come see why Glensheen Mansion, perched on the shore of Lake Superior, is one of the most visited homes in Minnesota. The 7 acre estate features beautiful gardens, bridges, and the famous 39-room mansion built with remarkable 20th century craftmanship, telling the story of the Duluth region. After lunch (will be taking orders for Northern Waters Smokehouse or choose lunch on your own in Canal Park) we will spend our afternoon touring two local breweries. Get a behind the scenes tour and tasting if desired.

Ongoing Classes at Birch Street Elementary School: Zumba on Wednesdays at 6 pm, Zumba Toning on Sundays at 6 pm and Clogging (starting March 7) for Tiny Tots (5 & Under), Beginners and Intermediates are on Mondays at 5:30 pm. Join any of these classes at anytime and first class is free.

Summer Creativity Camp with Festival Theatre!
August 15-19 from 8:30-3:30 pm at Frederic Elementary School

This is a Multi-Arts Day camp for ages 5-12 years old, covering literacy arts, drama, visual arts and movement. The camp will run Monday-Friday from 8:30 am-3:30 pm at Frederic Elementary School and the cost is $85 per camper. Super cool opportunity!

To Kill A Mockingbird
at the Guthrie Theatre

Join in the fun and sign up to take a coach bus to the Guthrie Theatre to see a moving adaptation of a cherished classic! Set in the Deep South, this timeless story based on Harper Lee's beloved Pulitzer Prize-winning novel is told through the eyes of Scout, the feisty young daughter of lawyer Atticus Finch. As a tug-of-war between justice and racism envelops the community, Atticus and his family face violence and hatred with courage and compassion.
Trip includes Backstage tour, admission for play, and motorcoach transportation

Learn Mahjong!
April 20-May 25, 2 pm at the Frederic Public Library, $20 class fee
Skill, strategy, and a certain degree of luck - that's the popular Chinese game of Mahjong. This game of "tiles," rather than modern playing cards, is interesting and fun, social, and can be very competitive! Learn the strategy of the game - it's not only fun, but also a great way to stimulate the brain! Maximum of 8 students so register early! Held at the Frederic Public Library.

Make Your Own Porch Pot
April 26, 6:30-8pm at The Rose Garden in Frederic, Cost: $10 plus materials
Bring your own container or purchase one here and create a unique and beautiful display just in time for spring! Choose from a wide assortment of plants and experts will be on hand to help or guide you. May 3 & May 5 at 6:00 - 8:30 pm
$30/*$17.25 FHS Lab 2 sessions Basic computer skills are required.
Spreadsheets Using Excel Explore the basics of spreadsheets. You will create and navigate spreadsheets, tables, and basic formulas. Spreadsheets are great for tracking family budgets, sports stats, household inventory, and so much more.

Horse Crazy
May 17 & May 19 from 3:15-5:15 pm at Elem, Class Fee: $10
Do you know a horse crazy youngster? There are many joys and positive attributes to owning a horse but there is also a lot of the work and responsibility. In this class we will discuss horse behavior, and basic horse care along with fun activities and crafts.

Youth Mosaic Drink Coasters
May 23 & 24 from 3:15-5:15 at Elem. Class Fee: $14
Kids love making art and mosaics is the perfect art form for kids. It is fast, easy and very forgiving ensuring that even the youngest will leave with a beautiful art project. The coasters are 4 inch by 4 inch squares so there is ample room for design.Kids are always surprised at the magic of the grout and how it makes each project so special and they will proudly show family and friends what they did with a little wood, glue and colorful mosaic pieces.
